Harrow's Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026. Last year the parade left Greenhill Way at 10.15am for the St Ann's Road memorial; Pinner's began 10.40am.

Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday 8 November 2026, and Harrow will keep the two-minute silence at 11am. Harrow Council has not yet announced this year’s services. Last year it listed three: a parade and service in Harrow town centre, and services at the war memorials in Pinner and Edgware. Last year’s details, from the council’s own announcement, are below, and this page will be updated when the 2026 notice appears.

The quick answer

Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026, with the silence at 11am. Last year Harrow’s parade left Greenhill Way at 10.15am, marched along Station Road and stopped at the war memorial on St Ann’s Road, where the Mayor led the service. Pinner’s service ran from 10.40am to 11.30am at the High Street memorial. The council published its 2025 details on 5 November, so expect this year’s in the first days of November.

What happened in 2025

Harrow Council’s announcement for Sunday 9 November 2025 set out the pattern (Harrow Council, Remembrance Sunday services, 5 November 2025, Wayback Machine copy):

  • The Mayor of Harrow led the town centre service, with the King’s representative, a Deputy Lieutenant.
  • The parade included the armed forces, cadets, scouts and other organisations. It marched from Greenhill Way through Station Road and stopped at the war memorial on St Ann’s Road.
  • The parade left at 10.15am, and “traffic will be paused for a short period of time”.
  • The two-minute silence was at 11am, followed by prayers and the laying of wreaths. The winners of the Mayor’s children’s poetry competition read their poems.
  • The council said Harrow’s service “is the largest outside of the Cenotaph in Westminster”. Residents were invited to join.

The Harrow town centre parade is the only one of the three the council described as a parade, and the only one where it warned of traffic being paused.

Before the day

Last year the Mayor visited Harrow’s 13 war memorials on 24 October to lay wreaths, including the Pinner Peace Garden, Leefe Robinson’s grave and the Harrow School War Memorial. That visit also launched the Poppy Appeal in the borough (Harrow Council, Mayor lays wreaths for Remembrance, 24 October 2025, Wayback Machine copy). The Harrow branch of the Royal British Legion meets at 76 Northolt Road, South Harrow (Royal British Legion, Harrow branch).

Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November, falls three days after Remembrance Sunday this year. The council did not list a separate public Armistice Day event in its 2025 announcement.

Remembrance at Headstone Manor

Two events at Headstone Manor on Pinner View are already confirmed for 2026:

  • Remembrance Trail, Sunday 1 to Sunday 29 November. Find the poppies hidden around the Manor House, learn about Harrow in the Second World War, and collect a token of remembrance at the end. Free, during museum opening hours (Headstone Manor). From 2 November the museum is on winter hours: Thursday and Friday 10am to 3pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 3pm, closed Monday to Wednesday (Headstone Manor, visit).
  • Exploring Harrow’s Wartime Bomb Map, Tuesday 10 November, 10am or 11.15am. A 45-minute standing tour of the museum’s street-by-street record of bomb damage in the borough. £3, ages 18 and over (Headstone Manor).

Getting there

The council’s car parks and charges are on parking in Harrow, and any road closure order for the parade will appear on Harrow roadworks and travel. The night before is a busy one: Harrow’s fireworks and Diwali display is on Saturday 7 November at Byron Recreation Ground, with road closures of its own (Harrow fireworks and Bonfire Night).

Still to confirm

  • The 2026 service times and parade route. Last year’s council notice came out on 5 November. We will check from late October and update this page.
  • Any traffic order for the parade on Station Road and St Ann’s Road.
  • Whether Pinner and Edgware keep last year’s times.
